Tinchuley is a small mountain village in Darjeeling district and located at an altitude of 5,800ft, and just 3kms above Takdah. The word Tinchuley means Three Ovens (i.e. Tin Chullahs). And such name to the village has been given because of the three prominent hill tops that surround the place and which from far look like a formation of an oven or chullah. Tinchuley faces the Kalimpong hills. The local community, in collaboration with environmental groups, developed organic farming zones, homestays, fruit orchards, and nature trails that embrace low-impact tourism. The result is a tranquil retreat that preserves the soul of the mountains while offering visitors a refined rural experience.
